FWT Finals ready to kick-off on the Wildseeloder with a two-run format

·   First of two events in the FWT Finals is ready to fire

·   Victor De Le Rue, Núria Castán Barón and Max Hitzig have a chance of being crowned World Champions with one competition to spare

·   Two-run format with the best one counted to stir up the excitement

FIEBERBRUNN, Austria – March 12, 2024: Stop four of this season’s FWT by Peak Performance is set to take place in the Austrian Alps. The top-ranked riders who made the Cut following the Georgia Pro, are ready to showcase their best riding on the Wildseeloder.

Competition has been confirmed for this Thursday, March 14, as an average of 12 cm of fresh snow has already covered the face, with more precepitations expected overnight. As temperatures will rise from Thursday onwards, this appears to be the best option to run the competition under safe and fair conditions for all riders.

The competition will take place on the well-know Wildseeloder, a face that gained its reputation among the FWT classics due to its steepness, long vertical drop, and seemingly endless selection of gnarly lines. With a drop of 583 m and an average gradient of 48°, this venue never fails to deliver an incredible show. Riders in all categories will enjoy a two-run format, where only the highest-scoring run will be counted. This format offers them two opportunities to execute the perfect run, promising to elevate the level even higher.

World titles are up for grabs at the Fieberbrunn Pro. In the Ski Men Category, Max Hitzig is the only male skier with a chance of securing the World Title in Austria. Victor de Le Rue in the Snowboard Men category and Núria Castán Barón in the Snowboard Women category also have the opportunity to be crowned ahead of the YETI Xtreme Verbier (March 23-31). The competition is tighter in the Ski Women category, with less than 3,000 points separating the first and fifth places, opening up opportunities for all riders.

Live coverage starts at 8:15 AM CET, with the first rider dropping at 8:30 AM CET. The dropping order will be:

·   Ski Women

·   Snowboard Women

·   Ski Men

·   Snowboard Men
